Who We Are

Our History

IT3, Inc. is a for-profit spin-off of the Institute of Textile Technology (ITT). Until the formation of IT3, Inc., the intellectual talent and experience of ITT were only available to ITT member organizations. Now, IT3 adds service and solution oriented experience to the research and knowledge of ITT and brings this combination to market in the US and world-wide.

The Institute of Textile Technology was founded in 1944 by US textile industry leaders who saw a need for individual companies to join forces in collective support of a private educational and research institution. The Institute was directed to conduct cooperative research, integrated with graduate research, as a means of helping the textile industry meet the challenges confronting it. Today, ITT enjoys an international reputation for the high quality of its programs and its graduates, many occupying positions of leadership in industry, education, and research.
